Religious Freedom and the First Amendment Clarified

http://www.ldsmag.com/churchupdate/091016freedom.html

Whether you are LDS or not, please take great interest in this profound article shared by one of our members. The First Amendment is probably the most important declaration of our freedom and limitation of the Federal Government. We find the tools to defend the first amendment in the second amendment and remainder of the Constitution.

Day of Fasting & Prayer for the Republic!

Time: September 28, 2009 all day
Location: Across the Fruited Plain
Organized By: Jared Law

Event Description:
Let us Fast and Pray for the Republic on Monday, September 28th, 2009!

I think everybody reading this knows that we are living in perilous times, and that our beloved nation is in great distress.

I could list all of the reasons we face peril, but they are too long to list in this small space. Most of you know what we're facing now, thanks to Glenn Beck and other Liberty-loving Patriots.

On Saturday, Glenn Beck tweeted a request that we all Fast and Pray for the Republic.

The 9.12 Project Network, the largest and fastest-growing of all 9.12-related networks in the world, is heeding that call.

Please join us as we fast and pray for the Republic of the United States of America on Monday, September 28th, 2009!

Whether you fast two or three meals, please remember to dedicate your fast with a dedicatory prayer, so that effort is specifically dedicated to this effort to help our beloved nation.

Then when you break your fast, please also remember another prayer (in addition to all your prayers during the fast) to close the fast and to Thank God for that which he has done, and will do to bless our efforts to restore our Republic, and to save it from the peril we have found ourselves in over the past few years, and most especially now.

Thank you so much for all you have already done, Fellow Principled Patriots!

Spread the word; please invite all 9.12'ers you know (and invite new ones as well) to join us in fasting and praying for the Republic on 9/28/09! Have a wonderful week!

PROPAGANDA... IS IT REALLY HAPPENING???

Much criticism came to those who opposed President Obama's speech and lesson plan in our public schools. The question was asked, "How can you oppose a message on education and for personal responsibility?". Are we being just a little over-protective? I submit that we are not. It was never the "content" of the speech, it has always been the "WHY" and "HOW" it was being delivered and "WHAT" was going to follow and "WHO" was going help promote the President's initiatives. The camel's nose is in the tent.

Recently, we have learned about the White House is illegally working directly with the NEA (National Endowment of the Arts) to collaborate the efforts of artists, producers, actors, and film makers to "move the needle" on Obama's agenda concerning healthcare, the environment, and education.
The story can be found here:
Don't just stop at this particular blog... read through all of the developments and listen to all of the conference call recordings on this site.

Secondly, we are seeing many disturbing videos surface, in which, celebrities pledge allegiance to Obama or are misinforming or scaring people.
Some of these videos can be found here:
1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLBE5QAYXp8 (this is being shown in schools AND over 4000 copies have been purchased from school districts alone). If you are not sure what is so wrong with this video... here is the debunk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5uJgG05xUY&feature=fvw (see all 4 videos... links are on the video)

2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51kAw4OTlA0 (the notorious I PLEDGE video)

4. http://yeswecan.dipdive.com/#/~/videoplayer/0/285/1503/~/ (this is pre-election stuff. Ask yourselves... are these feelings justified now? What is the change promised vs. that actual change that is taking place? Is the change divisive or inclusive?)

Now that we established that propaganda is happening, we need to ask ourselves, "What is propaganda? and is it bad?"
Definition: Propaganda is communication aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response.
How often do we accept and justify messages in our homes because the message "in part" is motivating or good, however, a small dishonest or damaging message that is mingled within slips through? Neighbors and friends, I submit to you that the Advisary is cunning and very very crafty with the presentation of a message that we all know down to our core will threaten our liberty and property. A message of economic slavery, submission, and surrender is being delivered in the guise of "service" and "compassion". A divisive social mantra is being delivered under the cover of "equality" and "choice". Socialism is being delivered disguised as "liberty" or "democracy". Social activism is offered as "civic responsibility" and "education". We are made to feel like racists for asking questions or dissenting to a political philosophy of control and force. We are made to feel like bigots for the tenets of our Faith and objective morality. For the Statist, the ends justify the means. The means are riddled with lies or violence. Human History testifies of this truth.

We have already witnessed evidence of propaganda surrounding the goals and efforts of this White House. The Tide Foundation, Moveon.org, Hollywood, Viacom (MTV, Comedy Central, Noggin), NBC (GE), SEIU, Acorn, and TimeWarner (among many other foundations and corporations) are all complicit in "getting the word out" in order to build a "new foundation" and "social change" for America.

You are probably asking yourselves, "So what does this have to do with the Obama speech to our children?". Well.... the speech marks the beginning of establishing a report and direct line of communication with the children, using the Department of Education and entertainment channels and resources owned by Viacom as a conduit. Who is better at indoctrination than the propaganda professionals at Viacom? The lesson plan is a first step, in which, children will make commitments to their dear leader. Discussion on social programs (like environment, healthcare, education, etc) are sparked in the classroom. A website, www.getschooled.com, is already up and running encouraging students into education ACTIVISM by encouraging your child to write to the Governor of your State with a seemingly innocent letter that has already been written. This is where you will find the details of the "contest" the President referred to in his speech. You can click on "help your kid find a career" and click on "people I admire". A few choices in "celebrity" types along with Barrack Obama are given. There is no mention of Jesus Christ, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, or even Martin Luther King.

Parents... open your eyes and be aware of what is going on. It is OK to be skeptical and suspicious when the evidence supporting this mass propaganda campaign is evident. Arm yourself with the truth and act without fear. Pay attention to your schools and television programming. Most of all, pray and seek guidance on how to protect ourselves and our children.

God Bless,
Jarrod

Defensive Line for life

A letter from Charmaine Yoest:
Be a Part of the Defensive Line for Life!
Dear Friend,

I wanted to thank you for the many wonderful notes and messages about my meeting at the White House yesterday. I so appreciate your support and encouragement! Thursday afternoon, I did have the opportunity to meet with senior White House officials, including President Obama’s Domestic Policy Advisor, to discuss our concerns about the abortion mandate in health care reform.

In the discussion we focused on our key message: Real health care respects life . . . and the American people do not want to subsidize abortion as part of health care. AUL Staff Counsel Mary Harned joined me and we also delivered our petition of close to 40,000 petition signatures protesting the abortion mandate in the health care proposals. Thank you to each one of you who took the time to sign this petition!

Our discussion concentrated on how the abortion mandate works. Our legal team developed a simple chart for the meeting entitled “Understand the Abortion Mandate” that I think is just terrific - take a look at it here and share it with a friend. In the days ahead, as this political battle heats up, the pro-life movement has to stay informed and motivated.

Click here to view my interview on FOX News with Megyn Kelly:

The bottom line is this: we have to have a specific statutory amendment that includes an explicit ban on federal funding and coverage or we will be forced to subsidize abortion through health care reform.

These days I’m spending a lot of time on the weekends watching my son John play football and seeing the play unfold on the field makes me think of what I’m seeing on the political field: the abortion lobby is trying to run a trick play, with a little razzle-dazzle thrown in, to maneuver around the Hyde Amendment which has blocked abortion funding in the past.

We need a tough Defensive Line for Life! In the next few weeks to months, this battle is only going to get bigger and tougher. We need you to stay with us as we work to ensure that life is protected in health care reform. We will not give up and we will continue to fight vigorously any legislation that does not protect and defend the sanctity of life. Will you please take a minute to forward this email to a friend and make sure that they understand the abortion mandate?

Thank you for joining me in protecting and defending life!

For Life,
Charmaine Yoest, Ph.D.

Great pictures of the March on Washington

Well, my new camera ate my pictures or maybe I just need to use the software that came with it, we'll see. Here's a link to some great professional photos to give you an idea. I'll start blogging stories soon! It was amazing!!!!

http://www.stealthfusion.com/forum/fusion-research/4910-amazing-photos-9-12-march-washington-vs-usa-today-national-mall-schematic.html

To characterize the people that came and the revolutionary feel to it, Laurie and I spoke to a man on the Metro enroute to the march who commented first that he didn't have a t-shirt or anything special to wear. He said that he'd just hopped on a plane that morning from Florida, because he'd "just heard about it" and he felt "compelled to come." Actually, everywhere we went before and after, people were coming up to us (if we didn't first), introducing themselves, asking how we thought it went, just being excited! More later...

EZRA TAFT BENSON ON SOCIALISM (2 of 2)

EZRA TAFT BENSON ON SOCIALISM (1 of 2)

The Obama Speech

Obama's speech to our children is posted:

For me, it was a well written speech on the value of education and personal responsibility. These are values that I hold dear and I am glad to see the President express those same values. I am glad the White House and the DOE reversed their initial message and intent and spent the better part of the weekend to change it.

With that said, I still want to watch him deliver the speech. I am still keeping my children from school for the reasons in my letter. I will decide in the privacy of my own home and through my sacred calling and honor of being a parent by my Heavenly Father... how I will incorporate this message to add to what we are already teaching (if at all).

Further, it is my prayer that the President will take his own remarks on "personal responsibility" and apply it consistently in his current social philosophy. Personal responsibility is an individual value. We are responsible for ourselves. Service to others is also our personal responsibility and can only be given through our free agency. Forcing the care of another onto somebody else does not teach personal responsibility and robs the individual of their Charity.

God Bless,
Jarrod

EMAIL TO CUSD

Dear Community,

I pondered on what this means. To me, this is a blatant circumvention of my parental responsibilities and rights. This is breaking the chain of command and the natural order of the family. I am the patriarch and standard bearer of my family. There is absolutely NO reason for the President of the United States to distract from the important issues of the day to give a speech to our children without our supervision. Frankly, the President’s agenda is not in line with my agenda. As a parent, it is my RESPONSIBILITY to preview any message from the President and filter out any damaging Marxist or Statist views and goals that will challenge my authority and responsibility as a parent. Barack Obama has not established himself as anything other than a partisan politician with a Marxist agenda. He has no report with my community or my family. This is not just my view, but the view of a majority of Americans per the latest polls.

Barack Obama has declared on several occasions that he intends on building a “new foundation” for America. He has surrounded himself with “special advisors” commonly referred to as “Czars” to help him establish this “new foundation”. It is clear that the “new foundation” intended for America includes a certain social justice, redistribution of property, population control, forced public service, increased taxation, increased government participation and control over markets and trade, increased government control over communication and speech, increased control over education, and intrusion in our private lives. The Czars are not shy or deceptive in their speeches or writings. We are blessed that they have been direct and clear in their intentions, so there is little doubt where they stand and what they want.

In Arne Duncan’s letter to the schools, he acknowledges that a President has never addressed our children directly before and refers to a “new foundation” and “social progress”. Further, the letter declares to educators that their “task” is paramount above all others for the future of our Nation. I strongly disagree with this conflicting and confusing message. The FAMILY is the foundation of this Nation. The FAMILY is the only social structure ordained by our Creator with the mantle of raising children and instilling values. Every President before this one knew that this kind of communication, usurping the parents authority and responsibility, was completely inappropriate. Every President before this one knew that giving out homework or a lesson plan to follow was an abuse of Federal authority. Further, the speech establishes further and unwelcomed Federal Government intervention in the affairs of my State, my County, my township, my community, and my family. The 10th amendment of the Constitution limits the federal government to the roles and responsibilities outlined therein. Everything else is reserved to the State and the People. Matters of Education are local. We elect school boards and hire Principals to insure our children’s education is closely aligned with the standards and principles of our families, so that it does not reflect the views of some idealist or activist in a land far far away.

Letter to the Principals

http://www.ed.gov/admins/lead/academic/bts.html

Please forward this email everyone you know. You should jot down your own thoughts and feelings concerning this and forward to your contacts and copy the Board Members and Principals at our schools. Below is a message to CUSD concerning this letter. I am calling for an emergency Board Meeting. For those of you in Gilbert Schools… I would encourage you to follow suit.

Principles, Educators, Administrators, and School Board Members,

You are copied on this email as a courtesy. If this video is to be shown, my child will be absent and my child will not participate in any of the work mandated by a man that has grossly opposing political, economic, and social views. I do not expect that my child will suffer any retaliation in assessment or treatment. My children are being raised with the principles and values of our Nation’s founding fathers and the tenets of my Faith. I highly encourage you to resist any temptation to allow this very unusual and inappropriate communication from the Federal Government to take place. If you want discussion, I would highly encourage you to hold an emergency Public Board Meeting concerning this matter. If you choose to forfeit your responsibilities for the taxpayers of this community to the encroaching influence of the Federal Government, please be advised that this community has had enough and is taking action to regain control over our communities and our schools. It is our prayer that you will join us in rejecting this seemingly polite invitation from our recklessly managed, morally bankrupt, and flawed Federal government.

Regards,

Jarrod White

Some favorite Thomas Jefferson quotes

*Don't talk about what you have done or what you are going to do.

*The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

*When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.

*When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

*The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

*I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Explaining the Tea Partiers to the Nation - the truth

Here's an article from the Wall Street Journal that is the truth for once. I stood outside on the street in front of Harry Mitchell's office today (we had shade luckily), and waved signs with one such group: simple Americans who know something's not right. Average Joes: a doctor, an ASU professor and his wife, a small businessman with his kids, and a bunch of others. Similar stories: just can't believe this is happening to our country, and just feel pressed to try anything. None of whom had EVER been political before. It's my story too. I felt great today, although I had to face the initial embarassment factor of sticking out -- putting myself out there. I've decided that I can get used to it. It felt good to meet "brothers and sisters" so to speak -- people I didn't know but with whom I had one commonality--our guts are telling us to stand up and fight. Long live our liberty!

A Canadian example of things to come

Please read this -- it will give you pause, and will help solidify the truth about what they're trying to do. Canada Healthcare budget shortfall, that will result in major cuts. This also on the news that the CDC reports that our average life expectancy has gone up to 78 years of age. Such a BAD healthcare system, right?

On the KTAR am news this morning, they reported that a White House official said they're getting tired of the stalling of the Right on this issue, and that they'll do "what they have to do" to get it passed. He said something to the effect that "it may be messy, but no one will remember how it got done, just that we got healthcare reform passed." Yuck....

Benjamin Franklin's Prophecy (ref. in 5000 Year Leap)

Benjamin Franklin to the Constitutional Convention:

Sir, though we may set out in the beginning with moderate salaries, we shall find that such will not be of long continuance. Reasons will never be wanting for proposed augmentations; and there will always be a party for giving more to the rulers, that the rulers may be able in return to give more to them. Hence, as all history informs us, there has been in every state and kingdom a constant kind of warfare between the governing and the governed, the one striving to obtain more for its support, and the other to pay less. And this has alone occasioned great convulsions, actual civil wars, ending either in dethroning of the princes or enslaving of the people. Generally, indeed, the ruling power carries its point, and we see the revenues of princes constantly increasing, and we see that they are never satisfied, but always in want of more. The more the people are discontented with the oppression of taxes, the greater need the prince has of money to distribute among his partisans, and pay the troops that are to suppress all resistance, and enable him to plunder at pleasure. (ref. on p. 67-8 in 5000 Year Leap)

The next step

Congratulations to Jason and Linda Mow. Tonight was an interesting meeting. And fun for (weird) people like me.
Hopefully some of you are ready to take the next step in becoming involved. I've been on about a 2 year hiatus of really being involved, but I'm feeling the bug again.
I'm including the URL for the website for the Legislative District 21 Republican Committee website. On it you will find information on their next meeting which is this Wednesday. http://www.district21az.org
For those that may be interested in becoming Precinct Committeemen you will find a button on the left side to print an application. Precinct Committeeman is the grassroots position in the party. There are really no obligations that come with it, but opportunities if you're looking for them. And they benefit from the Republican Party organization.
If you're not sure come check out the meeting and have an informative evening with like-minded people.

Intellectual honesty please.

I bet you know some rabid sports fans that are blindly, irrevocably loyal to their favorite team even when that team stinks. You might even be one yourself. And why not? Loyalty is an admirable trait, right? And it's just a game.
Sadly that same attitude seems to prevail in the arena of public policy. People support and defend "their team" jealously. Anxiously exploiting and exaggerating any misstep or miscalculation made by the 'enemy', while willingly overlooking or rationalizing their own teams misdeeds.
But this isn't a game. The stakes are enormous.
This is the flaw, potentially fatal, of the two party system. It too easily becomes a game. Victory trumps values. Partisanship replaces principle.
This is a bad long term plan because the very nature of 'principles' is that when we violate them, regardless of intentions, bad things happen.
Both of the major parties have supporters that fall into this trap.
I can understand why many people were attracted to Pres. Obama during the campaign. His rhetoric was soaring and inspirational. With so many citizens suffering from Bush fatigue, whether real or created, Obama offered a refreshing reprieve.
In the past 7 months it's become clear that his vision for America differs from the one he presented during the campaign. I suspect many that voted for him do not believe that the federal government should take ownership roles in banks and auto manufacturers. Or get further into the insurance providing business. Or guarantee future confiscatory taxes and inflation by devaluing the currency with enourmous debt. After all, economic principles are just that, principles. When we violiate them, regardless of intentions, bad things happen.
This presents those supporters with a dilemma. Do they support their team or their principles? Either way they feel disloyal.
To me it seems obvious. Politicians come and go. Principles persist.
With so wide a variety of issues facing us we can't expect to agree with anyone about everything. It is not contradictory to claim to support a party or individual while opposing this policy or that when intellectual honesty requires we do so.
Our country, our families, and our individual integrity will be better served.

Best defense is a strong offense.

PROJECTION: Projection is a form of defense in which unwanted feelings are displaced onto another person, where they then appear as a threat from the external world. A common form of projection occurs when an individual, threatened by his own angry feelings, accuses another of harbouring hostile thoughts. - Encyclopedia Britannica
All across America citizens, alarmed by the federal government's attempts to nationalize our health care system, have been making their anger known. Despite soft-petal reports by a fawning press they are demanding real answers and accountability from elected officials. And they are in no mood for platitudes and arrogance.
Rather than acknowledge that they have stepped in it, the Democratic leadership is firing back. They pronounce the protests to be illegitimate and the protesters to be pawns of Republicans and the insurance industry. (Although if challenged they can offer no evidence of either.)
Clearly this is their strategy. As the movement grows, in their desperation they need to dissuade others from joining the fight. Ridicule, scorn and intimidation (report your 'fishy' neighbors) are their weapons of choice.
But I think it's more than that. I think many of them really believe what they're saying. From their paradigm angry and boisterous protests are manufactured products. Their community organizers rouse the rabble, bus in rental protesters (union hacks), and call it 'grass roots'. They've never been part of a legitimate, home grown, real-people protest.
Combine that with the arrogant belief that only "special interests" could possibly disagree with them, and only for nefarious motives, and you have a textbook example of projection.

State vs Federal

Here's an interesting article:

Nebraskan's Assert State Sovereignty

Some have argued this is a peaceable approach to getting the big, onerous federal government out of our lives. A revolution of sorts, without ever firing a bullet. From the article it looks like a majority of states are following suit.

"Seven states passed resolutions this year affirming their sovereignty, and resolutions were introduced in 30 others. Some states have filed lawsuits or taken legislative action to challenge federal laws."

Beat them at their own game!

Here's a great story about how the Dallas Tea Partiers beat the MoveOn(.org) at their own game!

Dallas Tea Party activists out flank MoveOn at Obamacare protest.

If we keep this kind of thing up, MoveOn will have no choice but to do exactly that: MOVE ON!

An Expiramentation of Socialism

I got this in an email and thought I would share. Whether true or not, the theory has merit that cannot be ignored. 6th principle: I have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F..

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

On Saturday I went to the Principles of Liberty seminar held at Mesquite High School. It was basically an in-depth discussion of The 5,000 Year Leap by W. Cleon Skousen and it was really great. Bill Norton from the National Center for Constitutional Studies (NCCS) taught the class, as he does all over the nation. One minor note that he shared with us that I wanted to pass along is this: Between 1981 and last year, The 5,000 Year Leap had done moderate sales of about 60,000 copies. Mind you, that's over almost 30 years. In the last six months about 250,000 copies have been sold.
The NCCS has one objective--to get the people educated. I think that on a small degree it's working, but there is much more that we can do to help. The City of Gilbert sponsers a Constitution Week every year on the weekend of Sept. 17th. This year it will be held on Sept. 18-19th on the football fields behind Mesquite High School. It's a great opportunity to take your families and learn more about the founding of our country. Go to www.constitutionweekusa.com and click on Events Calendar to learn more.

How's this for a visual?

Remember we absolutely needed to pass that 787 Billion stimulus (without reading it) or the whole world would come collapsing down? Hmmmm...

Oh what a tangled web we weave....

Please take the time to watch the whole clip. We can't let apathy overtake us.

Obamacare...bureaucracy at its best.

House Democratic Leaders unveiled their plan for health care...

The visual is breathtaking...

I'm at a loss for words. Yes, I think health care/medical costs are out of control, but isn't that because of the bureaucracy we ALREADY have in place? I'm certainly not an expert on the subject, but I don't think adding more cooks in the kitchen will make this soup any easier to swallow. Obama HEAVILY criticized John McCain during the campaign for proposing a tax on Health Care benefits...but apparently Obama's okay with that now?

Confusing.

Look, I don't want to see anymore taxes to pay for anything? Can't we just cut back on the out-of-control spending we already have going on? Oh, and I hate to mention it, but have we forgotten about this big, bad economy thing we are dealing with? I know Obama said he can walk and chew gum at the same time, but really his performance is underwhelming. Apparently I'm not alone -- the latest from Rasmussen Reports:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 29% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-five percent (35%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –6 (see trends).

In the health care debate, 50% of voters now oppose creation of a public insurance company to compete with private insurers. Seventy-eight percent (78%) believe that health care reform is likely to lead to middle class tax hikes.

Any thoughts?

So this is what the GOP minority leader had to say...

I do have to mention a couple of pieces of legislation/amendments that I've caught wind of that I can definitely get behind and hopefully you can too. I'm not sure if they are still in conceptual phase or have actually made it onto a legislative agenda...maybe someone with more expertise in maneuvering bureaucratic government websites could possibly find them...
  • Read the bill: Nothing too tricky about this, require everyone to read the bill before final passage.
  • Let us read the bill: Again, is it too much to ask that our Representatives post the bill online and let us view their legislation/amendments in their full glory, a full 24 hours before the final vote.
  • Adopt the same health care: Now this one is intriguing, This would require our representatives to adopt the same health care plan for themselves that they pass for us. Update: just found this resolution, click here, and send a letter of support to your representative. (H. Res. 615)
If any of you have any information on these proposals, please share!

And so for my final thought...

It might not be as far-fetched as it seems.

Screaming at my TV - I promise I'm not crazy

I have NEVER in my LIFE felt like my head would explode, but I am SCREAMING at the TV right now as I listen to the President of the United States of America posturing before the world, claiming his right to obligate us to not only pump massive funding into correcting global climate change (while China, Brazil and India abstain) and HELPING other LESS FORTUNATE countries to do the same. I can't stand it, and I am generally a reasonable human being. It is my natural reaction, and I can't stop myself. My 17 year old thinks I am going insane, but insanity breeds insanity. I am unable to fathom how to stop this, but we MUST try anything we can.

My proclamation for the day: THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS BROKE--what do we NOT understand about that... Please take a financial management class dear Government officials. Spend less than you earn...

Christmas in July?

It has long been lamented that Christmas has become commercialized and more of a secular tradition than a celebration of the birth of our Savior.
It occurred to me while watching one of the thousands of fireworks shows that took place across the nation that Independence Day is no different. I looked at the large crowd gathered where I and my family were and wondered how many of them, or of the tens of millions likewise congregated, really understand anymore what we are commemorating. Or is it just a fun activity and excuse to take a day off work and have a BBQ?
Do they realize how far the current condition of our republic is removed from that envisioned by our founders? Do they care?
It is not unusual for me to hold back tears while watching the annual celebration. What was unusual is that this time they were not so much tears of appreciation for our great republic as they were tears of mourning for her.

Read a bit about George Washington this 4th...

I am grateful for this great country - we live in a choice land! I give thanks today for all that we have, and pledge to my country that I will try harder to be a righteous citizen -- to further the values and principles that men and women have died for from the beginning. I pledge to not give into the cynicism that I have felt for so long that "nothing can be done about corruption", "fighting against bureaucracies is for 'someone else' or is 'a lost cause.'" I will use my influence, my strength, my spirit, my choices, my professional expertise, etc. to do what I can, and I will let Him do the rest. I have been inspired by George Washington, and am SO grateful to be reading of his life and the nobility of his character. If he could endure all that pain, heartache, rejection, manipulation, mutiny, defeat, etc. for 8 years during the Revolutionary War (I haven't gotten to the presidency yet) and eventually triumph, then my duty to my country has to at least be that I will not give up in speaking out against tyranny, corruption, deceit, betrayal--at least while I have breath! I pledge to use my influence to strengthen my family and others, so that they can believe in themselves and the God who created them and loves them. This is a great country, and we are a great people that need to humble ourselves, to awaken our faculties, to return to good principles and values, and to spread the word. I am honored to attend our tea party tomorrow. Happy 4th people, and God Bless America!

Information Requested on Afghanistan

By Jason Mow
Subject: Info requested about Afghanistan

I originally posted this several weeks ago in an e-mail. At the last meeting I was asked to re- post this along with some photos of my adventures in Afghanistan. When I sent this out we were dealing with the Somali Pirates and the question was asked why it took so long to solve a basic security problem and why we waited for 5 days to invoke our rights as humans to not be terrorized by thugs and criminals. Social engendering has left us impotent and no better then sheep when we face a clear and present danger to our freedom and security.

100 years ago we as a society would hang a criminal for stealing a horse in the public square for to see and remember that there is consequence to our actions. Now we are told by those who “We” have empowered to control our life that if a criminal is breaking into our home where our children are sleeping the best option is for us to hide in the closet and pray the “Government” arrives in time to stop the thug from hurting us. Then we willingly spend on average $50,000 a year to make the criminal comfortable and secure while he pays back his debt to society.

IF only you all knew how widespread this problem really is. From Command Authority, to the local law enforcement, to you and me (we) have all collectively lost the will or refuse to fight for our own freedom.

Example #1: The city of Phoenix is the kidnapping capital of America and second in the world only to Mexico City. Drug cartels and criminal street gangs are dressing up like cops and kicking in doors taking whole family hostage for ransom. Every day we, the police, find dead bodies left on the streets as a warning to others not to re port or interfere. Children and young women are raped and/or sold into the sex trade. Boys forced to assist in the illegal sales, transporting and distribution of drugs on our streets. Mothers and fathers ripped from their children and held against their will. Remember, it took 5 days for our military to free one American man from four teenage thugs floating in a life boat. They were completely surrounded by the most powerful Navy the world has ever known, 1/2 a world away in the middle of the ocean. We, the American government, controlled every aspect of the encounter including the news media and the flow of information. Yet still we refused to save the hostage. It was dealt with only when the local Navy commander on scene made a career ending choice to let the Navy SEALS shoot the thugs as they tried to kill the hostage. If you noticed that right after this event, that Navy Commander was whisked away from the media spot light and has not been heard from at all. He embarrassed the White House and has been “reassigned”. Knowing this, how long do you think it will take for the local government to act if it is your family the drug lords take tonight, here in Chandler, with the ACLU, the Reverend Al Sharpton and La Raza watching? I know how long it will be...Those criminals are nothing more then land pirates and should be treated as such.

Example #2: CNN reports, and I personally witnessed, that 96% of the world’s supply of raw opium comes from the poppy fields of Afghanistan. The only reason the Taliban are even a threat to us is the funding that they get from the sales of this opium on the world market. That's right folks, a fact you will never see or hear on the news is the Taliban control the opium trade. Opium is processed into heroin and sold to our children on the very street in front of Basha High School. The poppy plant is where the Taliban get opium from and I have stood in fields of poppy plants that were larger then the cotton or corn fields here in south Chandler. Our official government stance on the poppy fields is "Leave them alone". The very product the enemy of freedom is using to fund the holy jihad against us is the same product the United States Military has been told not to harm in any way. It is also the product that the government will not stop by closing our borders and holding the drug dealers accountable for their actions. Imagine what would happen when our fathers and grandfathers were fighting the Nazis if General Patton came up to the President of the United States and said, "We have found a factory were the Germans are making tanks to kill American soldiers. We want to blow up the factory to stop them from making the tanks.” and the President replied, "No you can't destroy the factory we don't want to upset the workers or make the leaders of Germany angry at us." I know what would have happened then and I sure do know what is happening now...what are you willing to do for your freedom? By my reckoning the trouble in Afghanistan could all be over in 6 weeks. Yup, by the time your children go back to school we could be done fighting in Afghanistan. No poppy, no money, no money, no guns and road side bombs. No food or clothing or payments to Taliban fighters. Another dark secret…the Taliban is getting paid to fight, no freedom fighters in Afghanistan, everyone has their hands out in this conflict.

I could list all day long!!!! Are you sick and tired of all the lies and falsehoods?

Ask yourself these questions.

What would General Washington do?
What would General Joshua do?
What would General Moroni do?

Don't we teach our own children the stories and deeds of these great men?

Are these good men?
Are these honorable men?
Are they in paradise with God right now?

Freedom is not free.

I say again…What are you prepared to do?

This photo is of me standing in a poppy field in the Herat region of Afghanistan.

The second is of me with my "Gurka" security officer. The Gurka's are a legendary warrior tribe of people who live in the mountains of Nepal. We are getting ready to go find some evil doers.

Open Letter to Congressman Flake

As many of you already know, our congressional representative, Jeff Flake, missed a crucial day in Congress last Friday when the House passed a very controversial bill known as "cap and trade". As many of you also know, the bill passed by a very slim margin, seven votes to be exact. We can discuss the bill's pros (are there any?) and cons in another post. The reason for this post is to share with you a letter Jason Mow wrote to Congressman Flake in response to his absence for the vote.
Congressman Flake,

I was truly sadden and appalled at the news of your absence during the vote in Congress for the Cap and Trade Bill. Your leadership and strong stance against this massive socialistic taxation bill is what is most needed from our representation in Washington and sadly what is most lacking.

As a family man, I completely understand the emotions felt when a choice is needed between family and civic responsibilities. I have been making those choices my entire adult life. I have spent the last 17 years in the service of my country as both a professional soldier and a law enforcement officer. I can not recount all the holidays, birthdays, reunions, pageants, sporting events, weddings, funerals, graduations, trips to the zoo, skinned knees, and pretty new Sunday dresses I missed out on while honorably serving my country. You are not special or alone in this world. My family is fully aware of the sacrifice I make and understand it is their sacred offering before God, upon the alter of freedom, to support me in the cause of liberty and defense of the Constitution of the United States of America.

I respectfully remind you, Sir, you asked to be sent to Washington to be the voice of the people and stand up for the rights of the Americans living within your district. You know full and well the requirements of your time. You understood that it would mean time away from your family and sacrificing personal feelings for the greater good.

You are being well paid and well compensated for your time. Time that is to be spent reminding the federal government what the Constitution says, and demanding, with force if necessary, that the rights of the people in your district not be infringed.

I refer to hallowed antiquity and to the man who without question is the most important figure in American history. I speak of none other then General Washington. Remember, he was called out of retirement three separate times to serve his country and did so willingly. He refused to be paid while serving as commander of all patriot forces during the Revolutionary War. He left his beloved home, Mt Vernon, for years at a time then only returning when the war was won and finding it practically in ruin. He had children die while he served his country. He was long separated from his wife Martha. When he could no longer bear being apart from his beloved wife, he brought her to the horrors of Valley Forge where he refused to leave his men. Because of his commitment to his fellow man and his new country his personal fortune was destroyed. When he was sworn in as the first President of the United States he was in such financial desperation that he did not have a proper suit and needed to borrow money from a friend to get a new one.

I could continue on but I would instead direct you to the volumes of books dedicated to the memory of General Washington and his service. I would suggest you read some of them and gain a better understanding of your responsibility as a public servant and the standard he set for all of us as Americans.

This is a critical time for America. I listened while you spoke of a need to renew values and common sense in Washington. I supported you as you fought against the evils of our day. I even campaigned for you and spent my sacred funds in support of our causes. Now I fell betrayed by your actions. You abandoned your post as the enemies of liberty advanced. I am quite sure what your reaction would be if, as a soldier, I fled the battle field while facing the enemy in the heat of conflict or, as a police officer, I refused to sacrifice my life to save your family or rescue your fortunes from criminals. My contempt is real and my anger is justified.

If this occupation is to tasking and requires too much of your time and talent, then as your employer, I accept your resignation. If you feel being present to vote in opposition of the most audacious assault on American liberty is to tasking or time consuming then you are free to step aside.

We are all accountable to the Maker of heaven and earth for our actions. Like I tell my children, “Right or wrong, good or bad, the consequences for our actions will someday be ours alone.”

I refer to your own words from your web site.

Washington, D.C., Jun 26 -

Republican Congressman Jeff Flake, who represents Arizona’s Sixth District, criticized the cap and trade bill that passed today.

“The last thing a fragile economy needs is a new energy tax, yet that’s essentially what this cap and trade bill is,” said Flake. “This bill is more about generating revenue for the federal government than it is about addressing climate change.”

Unfortunately, Congressman Flake was unable to vote on the bill due to a family obligation. Congressman Flake’s daughter was Arizona’s representative in the America’s Junior Miss scholarship program, and Congressman Flake and his wife were there supporting her.

“Obviously, it was a tough decision to miss voting against the cap and trade bill. But I’ve let my daughter down enough over the years, and I felt I just couldn’t let her down again.”

Had he been able to vote, he would have voted against the bill. Unless it is changed substantially, Congressman Flake will vote against the cap and trade conference report when it comes back to the House.

All the words in the English language did not make us free men so long ago. Words are as cheep as the paper they are written on. It is action that makes us free. Action at places such as, Bunker Hill, Trenton, Bull Run, Gettysburg, The Alamo, The Somme, Pearl Harbor, Normandy, Iwo Jima, Pork Chop Hill, Heartbreak Ridge, Tet, The Ia Drang Valley, Beirut, Panama, Mogadishu, Baghdad, Kabul, and the Twin Towers. All of these places are now hollowed ground where Americans drew a line in the stand and said “not one more step back.” These places are where American men and women who “More then self their country loved” stopped speaking and started acting. They acted on their belief that this country is more important then there own “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor”. Arlington is full of the grave markers of men and women who will never see their daughters in a pageant, what makes you so special?

Sir, either lead us or get out of the way.

Good News!

It is confirmed. Chris Simcox will be meeting with us on Thursday the 30th of July at 6:30 PM at Jarrod White's home. He will be address us about his campaign against McCain and then answer any questions we may have. I will be sending out flyers and reminders along the way. I just wanted to give the heads up now so you all can put it on your calendar. I will need some support in finding additional chairs to allow everyone a seat, if anyone has some please let me know. Also, if anyone would like to arrange for some snacks and desserts again please let me know. Pass the word along to all you know. The only way theses people are going to know we mean business is if we pack the house with angry voters every time we meet with them.

Hyperinflation...what does it mean?

Please take a minute and watch all three of these videos. It will be worth every minute of your time. I've heard about hyperinflation but I haven't really understood what that means in terms of what to expect. This series was very eye opening to say the least.
