Caring, like most things, should be optional.

This election could have dramatic and wide ranging consequences. Every citizen will be impacted by the results. And isn't that a shame?
I listened to an interesting exchange several days ago. One person was asked by another about the upcoming national election. The man responded with the opinion that he is a busy man and doesn't have time to worry about politicians. Taken aback the 1st man declared that we all need to be engaged because we will all be greatly effected by the results of this election. It became clear that the man had baited his interviewer when he responded, "Ah yes, and isn't THAT the issue?"
The point the man was trying to make was that, if the federal government was bound by the limitations intended by our founders, those of us that are busy raising families, running businesses, serving others, etc. would have the luxury of being disengaged from politics and following our passions without worrying about what the federal government would be up to. Actually, I shouldn't even need to refer to that as a 'luxury'.
The federal government has consistenty, systematically, grown beyond its intended charter regardless of which political party has been at the helm. Perhaps most of us are guilty of accepting increased intrusions so long as they impose a view with which we agree. The paradigm by which we've been conditioned to view elections is based on whether we will be governed from the right or from the left.
I wonder, from where we stand is it possible to return to the founding principles that we should largely be free to govern ourselves?

Open Letter #1 to President Obama

On September 20th, President Obama issued a challenge to the Grass Roots movement to specifically detail what we would do to deal with economic problems.
On October 1st, iCaucus (a “Grass Roots” National Citizens organization) has answered this challenge with the release of "Creating Jobs in America... Stimulating Solution #1 from the American Grass Roots"

This is just the first of a series of open letters to President Obama (and the rest of our out of touch elected officials) that will be released periodically over the next few weeks. The next open letter from iCaucus will spell out how to fix the broken federal budget process in order to stop the out of control spending spree that Washington has embarked upon.

Good News!

Among all the bad news there is a good story out today. This is by no means the end of the battle, but we can put this in the win category for now.

Volunteer Patriots Needed, NOW!

I have been working with iCaucus to help elect principled candidates to local, state and federal offices. iCaucus has the same Principles that we as Tea Party Patriots hold dear: LIMITED GOVERNMENT, FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY, and ADHERENCE TO CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY. We research, vet, endorse, and then campaign for those who make it through their 80 question on-line survey and interview. We can use more Members and Delegates to accomplish this important mission. We must bring Government control and accountability back to the People! Please go to the iCaucus website http://www.icaucus.org/ to see what we do and how the process works. This might be something you would be interested in joining. There are different phases of the process and if you have difficulty attending meetings &/or like working on your computer, we have an area that can really use your skills. We are non-partisan and DO NOT endorse third party candidates!

A supposed prayer from an Arizona 15 year old (not verified)

Since the Pledge of Allegiance
And
The Lord's Prayer
Are not allowed in most
Public schools anymore
Because the word 'God' is mentioned.....
A kid in Arizona wrote the attached

NEW School prayer:
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quo te the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Obama and Off shore drilling...

Obama to Open Offshore Areas to Oil Drilling...

Boehner: Obama Administration’s Decision Keeps Vast Majority of America’s Offshore Energy Resources Off Limits | Republican Leader John Boehner

Retire Harry Reid!

I-Caucus has endorsed Bill Parson to run for the US Senate from Nevada. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from National University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Phoenix. Throughout his career he has never had a Project over run it’s budget or finish late, unlike those presently representing us now in DC.

Retire Barbara Boxer

Chuck DeVore is running for the US Senate from California, hoping to unseat Barbara Boxer. Wouldn't that be wonderful for us all! He is an iCaucus endorsed candidate and CA's first election fundraising deadline ends at midnight tonight. So donate to his campaign by going here: http://www.chuckdevore.com/

My Visit to Ronald Reagan's Library

I came away from a visit to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library last weekend with renewed peace. I came away inspired. There have been men worthy of our regard and our trust, even in our not so distant past. We walked through the library with our son-in-law Navy seabee and his bride, and I felt proud of an American leader.

Although still skeptical, we spoke to a man outside who had a Marine t-shirt on, and was clutching a framed photo. We helped he and his wife take a picture, and I asked him about the picture he was holding. It was a picture of him, in full dress uniform, standing in front of President Reagan and his helicopter, back when he was in service. I had to ask, "Seriously, what was he like?" The response encouraged me: "He was a real man. A great man. So gracious and honorable." I posted that to my facebook page, and a HS friend chimed in: "I was there, too. I agree!"

So I swallowed my wallet and paid $17 for a reproduction of a plaque that this good man had on his desk. It now stands on my desk as a reminder for my own personal fights, and the fight for our nation. It is strengthening me every time I see it. Borrow it if you wish... Battles will be lost -- we can win the war. Fight - in any way you can. And BELIEVE. Have HOPE. And CHARITY.

"It CAN be done." God bless you, President Reagan. I'll remember.
